Frequently-asked questions

 *  Is configuration assistance available?
  Yes.   Contact WWWGrab.com.

 *  How do I configure the database and the ODBC connection?
  Visit the database + ODBC help page.

 *  Is a command-line version of Set Machine available?
  Yes, as part of the Set Machine Development Tools.   This enables Set Machine to be called by scripts, batch files, or to be run as a Windows Scheduled Task.

 *  What's the difference between the WWWGrab and Set Machine installation packages?
  WWWGrab contains a copy of Set Machine, a sample database and HTML parsers.   The Set Machine package installs sample email and file parsers, but has no web scraping capability.

 *  What's the best way to submit sample emails?
  The best way to submit email samples is to copy them into a Microsoft Outlook Personal Folders File (.PST) file.   Here's how it's done in Microsoft Outlook 2000 :
  • Choose menu selection: File / New / Personal Folders File (.pst)
  • Choose any name for the new .PST file
  • Copy the sample emails, or folder(s), into the newly-created .PST file
  • Locate the .PST file in your file system using Windows Explorer or a similar program
  • Send the .PST file as an (preferably zipped) email attachment to

You can forward sample emails as well, but this creates emails with the original header moved into the email body, so it's not "live" data.   A parser can still be developed with forwarded emails, but it's always better to use data that's as close to your originals as possible.
